Germinal 1604 is a tablet like high-yield grain refining flux. It is sodium free and contains a large amount of titanium and boron, which can form a grain structure in aluminum magnesium alloys. This product does not have a degassing effect, so it is recommended to use a degassing flux after treatment with Germinal 1604 (see Elidron 208). Deaerators help with the distribution of crystal nuclei and may reduce internal porosity. This product is typically used for aluminum magnesium (magnesium>3%) and aluminum strontium alloys.
