Nael 10 is a powdery flux suitable for processing aluminum alloys that are disturbed by calcium and sodium elements. High magnesium aluminum alloys, such as the 5000 and 7000 series, may have a higher calcium content, which can reduce castability and uniformity of the alloy structure. Due to the degree of calcium content in silicon metal, eutectic and hypereutectoid aluminum silicon alloys may also carry these impurities. In aluminum silicon eutectic alloys, calcium as an impurity can affect the results of modification treatment with sodium flux or metallic sodium, and also have a negative impact on gas absorption in liquid metal. The elimination mechanism of Nael 10 is based on the reaction of magnesium with calcium and sodium, both of which dissolve in molten aluminum. The product of this reaction is insoluble in molten metal and has a low specific gravity. The by-products generated by the reaction are prone to float on the surface of liquid metals, and Crystal 2027/2/B (sodium free granulation flux) can be used to remove slag.
